Meet Janet Biribawa, a bright and hopeful seven-year-old born on July 3rd, 2017, in one of the fishing communities along Lake Victoria in Mayuge. In these communities, it's common for men to have multiple wives, often resulting in an inability to adequately support their children. Unfortunately, Janet is one of the many children affected by this challenging reality. After her mother remarried, her new husband wouldn’t allow Janet to live with them, so she now lives with her aunt, who cares for her as best as she can. Despite these circumstances, Janet has a deep love for school, where she eagerly absorbs knowledge and enjoys playing with her classmates. One of her favorite activities is jumping rope, and she dreams of becoming a teacher one day so she can share her love of learning with others.
